The Wildlife Reserves Singapore Conservation Fund (WRSCF) marks a decade of bird conservation, and Jurong Bird Park is offering free admission to all local residents during the September holidays.

Take a walk around Jurong Bird Park and enjoy 14 free areas, including Birds of Prey, Outdoor Penguin Coast and Dinosaur Descendants. You can learn about Singapore’s Great hornbill at Hornbills and Toucans or fly over to Birds of Prey to spot one of the world’s rarest raptors – the Philippine eagle.

3.3 Mass Lantern Walk

3.4 Cultural Performances

The second edition of Gallery Children’s Biennale 2019 invites you to experience a new dimension of creativity and open yourself up to wondrous surprises. Here are some of the programmes for September.

5.1 Super Sonic Walk

Calling all children ages 7 to 9 to learn more about sound art. Focusing on Chance Operations by Song-Ming Ang and led by an experienced docent, kids will learn about the artist, his practice, and how to better appreciate art through facilitated discussions and activities.

5.2 Embracing Animal Pop by Jecko Siompo

Involving up to 20 adult-child pairs, Jecko Siompo's Embracing Animal Pop is a mobile participatory performance that unfolds across the Gallery in spectacular style. Each pair will use the “animal pop” dance style—pioneered, practised and taught by Siompo—that fuses animal-inspired movements and the more urban styles of pop and hip-hop.

Where: The performance will begin at the Padang Atrium on Level 1 and Level B1 of the Supreme Court Wing of National Gallery Singapore.

5.3 Family Art Workshop: Recreate A Painting in Diorama

Learn all about foregrounds, middle grounds and backgrounds in compositions and discover how artists use perspective through Liu Kang’s painting Life by the River and the installation Play by the River. Then recreate your own diorama of the painting under the guidance of an experienced Gallery facilitator.

6. Sentosa Sandsation: Star Wars Edition

There’s been a murder and you have to solve it. No one can leave until the murderer is found. Your team must use programming skills to figure out who the murderer is and escape the room before it is too late!

Spend quality time with your loved ones at My Family Fiesta. Everyone can have fun playing games, learning crafts, enjoying carnival bites and supporting child entrepreneurs at their booths. The kids can even try their hands on a variety of jobs – cooking, fighting fires, excavate or even presenting the news in front of a camera - too!

 8.1 Big Little Boss

Let your child be a ‘Big Little Boss’ for a day! Royal Institution (RI) has been obsessed with science experiments and demonstrations for the last 200 years. From inventing the modern electric world to using x-rays to see through atoms, RI has constantly been at the forefront of technological advances, using demonstrations to help everyone understand what’s going on.

Join Science performer Natasha Simons and science communicator Sarah-Jane Judge, as they pull out RI’s most interesting, most loved and most explosive demonstrations.

9.2 Exploration of the Lungs and Digestive System

The inflatables of the Lungs and Digestive System at this year’s one-north Festival embrace the strong educational component of discovery, as well as the fun aspects of learning about these vital organs in our body.

Kids and their families are invited to visit the activity tables and tour these super-sized (and very bouncy) replicas of these important vital organs. Walking through a detailed reproduction of the super-sized lungs and the inflatable reproduction of the digestive system, visitors will learn their important and unique functions; and how they aid in the digestion of the different foods we consume. Science Explainers will be present to guide kids in their learning exploration.

You and your family will walk away with a newfound appreciation of the important and unique functions of these organs and an increased awareness of how to take better care of our own health.

10. Nickelodeon's Slime Time at City Square Mall

Since the early 90s, getting slimed by bright green sludge has been a defining Nickelodeon stint. This school holiday, the first in-mall slime experience in Singapore is oozing its way to City Square Mall. This is your chance to let your little ones experience it for themselves!

All you need to do is spend $50 to get an event passport to gain access to all the activities. Each passport admits one person. And redemption starts from Fri, 6 Sept.
